Travesty of Justice – UAE (USA?) Style

Well we all remember this video:

[Brief description: The video shows a United Arab Emirates Sheikh, Issa bin Zayed al Nahyan, torturing an Afghan businessman with whips, cattle prods, and wood planks studded with nails. The video also implicates the United Arab Emirates police in assisting Issa, the brother of the country’s crown prince, in the torture. In one scene, a man in a UAE police uniform is seen holding the businessman down as the Sheikh pours salt on the man’s wounds and then drives over him with his Mercedes SUV.]

The verdict? The sheikh carrying out the torture: Acquitted of ALL charges and not a dime in fines. The excuse? He was too much under the influence of drugs to know what he was doing. But it gets better. Isn’t taking drugs against the law — especially I UAE? Of course. But in the wildest spin by this shameless kangaroo court, they blamed the guys releasing the video of having drugged the sheikh and sentenced to 5 years in prison plus fines….

Maybe there is an explanation — maybe a couple:

  1. The sheikh works for Xe/Blackwater
  2. UAE has adopted the American judicial system

No wonder why arab leaders are considered one of the most dumb people in the world. They “win” over our own “justice” system….or rather lack of it.
