Just when French President Sarkozy’s crooked deal with Zardari (bribe for buying French submarines, non payment of part of which led to the killing of 11 French engineers in a bomb blast — blamed on ‘terrorists’, of course — outside Sheraton Hotel, Karachi) is being investigated once again, Sarkozy is trying to hide behind the burqa, hoping this diversion will make the issue fade away.
Sarkozy is trying to ban the burka describing it as a ‘security risk’, saying they provide the perfect cover for criminals and terrorists. Isn’t it curious then that just as this debate is raging in France, we have, for the first time in France, a robbery by burqa-clad armed robbers! Hmmmmm!!!
(If true, shouldn’t Sarkozy be blamed for giving the robbers the very idea? And I want to ask that since ALL robberies are done by people wearing clothes, how come no one has demanded that clothes be made illegal???)
